At this year's conference “Social Sciences and Practice in Dialogue”, which focuses on energy-efficient households, researchers and practitioners will reveal options for reducing energy consumption in households. In four parallel sessions they will approach the topic from different angles:

  1. Energy supply and energy efficiency
  2. Individual decision behaviour
  3. Motivation - effectiveness of campaigns and nudges
  4. Political instruments: effectiveness

The conference is aimed at persons responsible for energy policy in cities, cantons and the Confederation, as well as at energy supply companies, advisors and implementation experts.

It will take place on 2 September 2016 at ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur.

Organisers of the conference are “Energieforschung Stadt Zürich”, the Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE, the National Research Programme “Managing Energy Consumption” (NRP 71) and the Competence Centre for Research in Energy, Society and Transition SCCER CREST.
