Prof. Sophia Haussener wins Prix Zonta

The ETH researchers Sophia Haussener and Lucie Tajcmanová have been awarded the Prix Zonta 2015 for their work on renewable energy. Sophia Haussener is involved in various SNSF projects, including the National Research Programme "Energy Turnaround" (NRP 70).

According to the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, the jury led by Prof. Martine Rahier, president of swissuniversities and rector of the University of Neuchâtel, awarded the Prix Zonta and prize money of CHF 30,000 to Sophia Haussener and Lucie Tajcmanová for their work in the field of renewable energy. Sophia Haussener is assistant professor at the Laboratory of Renewable Energy Science and Engineering at EPF Lausanne. She is the principal investigator of the NRP 70 research project "Aluminium-silicon based phase change material structures for high-temperature latent heat storage", which is part of the joint project "Electricity storage via adiabatic air compression".
