Focus studies enlarge upon key questions of NRP 70 and 71. The focus study "Energyscape" examines the effects of renewable energy systems on the landscape and their acceptance among the population.
Life cycle assessment in a circular economy
The 63rd "Life Cycle Assessment" Discussion Forum focused on the circular economy. Melanie Haupt presented the results of her study on material flows in the Swiss waste industry.
Study on the potential of industrial carbon sources for renewable fuel
According to a study by the Hochschule für Technik Rapperswil HSR, industrial carbon sources produce enough CO2 to cover 43 per cent of the energy required by road transport in Switzerland with renewable fuel by means of methanation.
Experimental Flooding for the Sarine
Research is currently being carried out to ascertain whether hydropower can be made more environmentally friendly in the Sarine River through controlled experimental flooding. The first experimental flood event has taken place. Researchers are analysing all the data and records that have been collected.
