Completed Project: Energy reduction potentials of elderly people’s households
By optimising their living situation, older people can contribute up to 4% to the annual energy saving objective of Energy Strategy 2050 for the heating of living spaces.
Guidelines for energy-saving behaviour in six fields of action
Six guidelines of the NRP 71 project “Sustainable lifestyles and energy consumption” support the authorities in promoting energy-saving behaviour in various fields of action.

At a technology meeting, research teams presented the results of two NRP 70 projects to representatives from the construction, energy and photovoltaics sectors.
Energy-efficient living in old age
The completed NRP 71 project “Energy reduction potentials of elderly people’s households” has launched a follow-up project on behalf of EnergieSchweiz and with the support of the Federal Office for Housing (FOH). With the project “Energy-efficient living in old age” (EnWiA), interventions are being made that motivate older people to reduce the size of their living spaces and in doing so reduce their energy consumption.
